Tuition fees and scholarships


Undergraduate degree students are charged tuition fees each year by Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). The rate you will be charged depends on whether you are assessed as a Home/EU or an Overseas student.

Excellence scholarships

The School of Economics and Finance has 9 Excellence Scholarships available to Home/EU students and 4 Excellence Scholarships for Overseas students. Both types of scholarship are available for the following degrees: Economics (L100), Economics and Finance (LN13),Economics and Finance with a Year in Industry (L1N3)(a), Economics and International Finance (L13N), Economics, Finance and Management (LN12), as well as the two joint programmes where Economics and Finance is considered the ‘home school’: Economics and Politics (LL12), and Economics, Statistics and Mathematics (LG11).

Each Scholarship is worth up to £15,000, as it consists of an annual £5,000 bursary that can be continued into the 2nd and 3rd(a) year on the basis of good academic performance (a for L1N3 the scholarship won’t be paid during the year in industry, but can instead be paid during your 4th year). The Scholarships will be awarded as applications come in on the basis of academic excellence (applicants will typically need predicted grades of at least A*AA at A-levels, IB 38 points or equivalent in order to be considered for an award).

You do not need to apply for these scholarship separately as every applicant for a place on the degrees listed above will be considered automatically.
